On April 3rd, 2009, DocuTech hosted a contingency of nearly 30 members of the Japan Image and Information Management Association (JIIMA).
JIIMA's mission is to make a contribution to the development of information society as well as to users of image and information through various activities on image and information management such as market research, drafting of JIS Standards, promotion of standards, establishment of legal admissibility, development of technologies and promotional campaigns.
JIIMA members are leaders within the imaging industry in Japan and represent a number of large Japanese corporations including Yokohama Microsystems, Jimco Co., JS Cube Co. Ltd., and the NTT Data Institute of Management Consulting.
DocuTech’s presentation focused on current trends of Document and Records Management in the United States today as well as a lengthy discussion of future directions of both the Japanese and American industries.
“We appreciate (DocuTech’s) informative presentation,” said Michihiko Takahashi, JIIMA President. “We are all impressed with the strategic, sincere, and steady manner (in which) DocuTech operates.”
“It was an honor to host JIIMA’s representatives,” explained Gene Kato, DocuTech President. “And in today’s world, it is vital to engage in a global exchange of industry knowledge – to look at our differences and similarities.”
One of DocuTech’s core philosophies is in fact, the Japanese concept of ‘Kaizen’ or continuous improvement. DocuTech’s solutions are all steeped in the idea of streamlining business processes and saving costs, as well as maintaining regulatory compliance.
“We are deeply impressed with DocuTech’s ECM consulting model,” said Toshio Umehara, of J-S Cube Co. Ltd. “Our visit to DocuTech was extremely productive.”
According to Kato, DocuTech will continue to work closely with JIIMA in the future.
